ABSTRACT TEACHING BIBLICAL MEDITATION AS A MEANS TO PRAYER TO STUDENTS OF WELCH COLLEGE, NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE Barry Glendon Raper, D.Min. Whitney This project sought to educate and engage college students in the spiritual disciplines with special focus on the twin disciplines of meditation and prayer. Chapter 1 introduces the context of Welch College and provides the rationale for the project. Chapter 2 examines the biblical and theological basis for meditation in the Old and New Testaments. Chapter 3 focuses on the link between meditation and prayer with special emphasis on George Mueller. Chapter 4 provides the reader with a look at what actually took place within the project. Chapter 5 evaluates the project and gives theological and personal reflections.
