dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this project was to introduce the life group leaders at Auburn Grace Community Church to the principles and practice of biblical counseling.Chapter 1 presents the context and goals for the project. Chapter 2 is a presentation of four biblical passages (2 Pet 1:3-21; Col 3:12-17; Rom 12:1-15:19; Eph 4:7-16) that establish the theological foundation for the church body to participate in the one another ministry of biblical counseling.Chapter 3 is a theological and pragmatic assessment of Larry Crabb's approach to counseling. Chapter 4 details the preparation and implementation of an eight-session course used to introduce life group leaders and others to the principles and practice of biblical counseling. Chapter 5 discusses the project's effectiveness in reaching the specified goals.en_US
