G A CHURCH PLANT LAUNCH TEAM AT CITYVIEW CHURCH IN PEARLAND, TEXAS Jason Andrew Crandall, D.Min. The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2016 Faculty Supervisor: Dr. John David Trentham Chapter 1 provides an introduction to this project by describing the early circumstances for CityView Church. This chapter introduces the church’s background and the rationale for focusing on this topic. Chapter 2 explores the biblical justification for church planting and leadership within a church plant. This chapter focuses on what the church must do and how church plant launch teams should be sent. Additional focus is given as to who should lead a church plant launch team. There are many pragmatic strategies to planting a church, but they must fall in line with the biblical mandate and purpose for church planting. Chapter 3 gives information regarding aspects of church planting vital to success and health in new churches. This information helps churches evaluate which factors will indicate greater success in church planting. Chapter 4 provides the implementation of the project that begins with curriculum design, selection of a prospective team, training, and commitment to the team. This section also provides brief explanation of each session’s training objectives. Chapter 5 describes the results of the project. Theological reflections are included to aid in future learning on this subject. My personal reflections upon the doctoral program’s influence on this project are also included in this chapter.en_US
